The War Memorials Project launched in November 2023 with the aim of digitising all War Memorials found in Rhondda Cynon Taf. Rather than simply transcribing all the names listed on the War Memorials, the project aims to provide each listed individual with a baseline level of information, such as their service number, last known address, and location of their grave. This project is the first of its kind to be done on this scale within the UK, and to achieve our aims, we require the support of many volunteers.

RCT’s Heritage Service team has worked with over 200 project volunteers to date, and we invite you to join them. Help us research and tell the stories of the brave men and women of Rhondda Cynon Taf who lost their lives in conflict.

• No experience is required – training will be provided.
• You can volunteer as much or as little time as you are able.
• Individuals and groups welcome.
• The results of your research will be featured on the RCT Our Heritage website.
