Altered Images
Live and Let Pride
Altered Images invited members of Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Equality and Diversity Youth Forum to work with local artist, Caitlin Flood-Molyneux, on a project which combined LGBTQ+ history with art. During research sessions at Aberdare Library, the group pored over old newspaper articles and books, before moving to the Cynon Valley Museum to produce pieces of art inspired by what they’d discovered.
“Welcome to our exhibition which celebrates all things LGBTQ+.
This exhibition is about us and our experiences as members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community.
We are all young people from the Cynon Valley who feel passionately about equality and full social inclusion for the LGBTQIA+ community.
This project has enabled us to work together to research local and national LGBTQIA+ history and heritage, which has inspired and informed the pieces of art we have created.
We hope you enjoy our exhibition.”
