    Altered Images

    Nigerian Community Heritage Project

Altered Images invited the Content Creators of RCT’s Youth Engagement and Participation Service to work with filmmaker, Hugh Griffiths, to conduct oral history interviews with members of RCT’s Nigerian community. During the project, the young people developed key interviewing skills and researched the diverse heritage and culture of Nigeria.

The young people conducted the interviews at Canolfan Calon Taf in Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd, which covered an array of fascinating subjects, from life in rural Nigeria, to clothes, food, music, celebrations, and a traditional ‘talking drum’.

We hope you enjoy listening to the interviews and learning about Nigeria’s rich heritage and culture.

All interviews were conducted by Harry Davies, Khandi Jarvis and Kye Powell, assisted by Hannah Buckmaster, Hugh Griffiths, Allyn Jones and Louisa Walters.
