    Altered Images

    The Morfydd Llwyn-Owen Project

Members of Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Cynon Youth Forum worked with the Altered Images project and local artist, Caitlin Flood-Molyneux, on a project which combined art and researching the life of a local cultural icon.

“Welcome to our exhibition which celebrates the life, work, and legacy of Morfydd Llwyn-Owen.

Morfydd was born and raised in Treforest during the late 1800s and early 1900s. She was a gifted and talented musician who moved to London to study music at 21 years of age and became a trailblazer for female composers.

This exhibition includes our original pieces of art incorporating stencils, stamps and paint, which interpret Morfydd’s amazing story and capture her colourful and vibrant personality and style, and a timeline of her life.

We hope you enjoy our exhibition, and it encourages you to find out more about the legend of Morfydd Llwyn-Owen.”
