    Kathryn Jones

Kathryn is in her early 50s and was born in Aberdare. She has lived in Aberdare all her life apart from her student years at Bangor University. After ill health forced her to retire from a career in social work, she has been involved in creative writing since 2020, her poetry appearing in several local anthologies, and read on the BBC Wales Arts Show. Kathryn’s writings are strongly influenced by her Christian faith, and the themes of mental health, justice, and equality. As a disabled writer with ME, creative writing provides her with both an outlet and a platform for her illness, which she feels, is often ignored and under-resourced. Kathryn also enjoys studying Art History, building Lego, pottery, gaming, reading, baking, drumming, stained glass craft, and watching rugby.
