Ann Davies, born in 1952, has lived in Ferndale, the Rhondda Fach, all her life. She grew up in Tylorstown, attending Hendrefadog Infants and Secondary Modern, before going on to Rhondda College of Further Education in Llwynypia, now Coleg y Cymoedd, to do a secretarial course. Ann worked in office administration for many years, until retiring in her sixties. She has always enjoyed writing and won the Literature Prize in the Rhondda Eisteddfod held in Maerdy in 1994. She has been a member of the Rhondda Cynon Taf Creative Writers Group since it was founded in 2010, representing the group in an EU-funded arts conference, in Ancona, Italy, in 2016. An active volunteer in many community and church groups, Ann’s self-confessed passions are writing, animals and Rugby Union.
